About Juristat
We decided that the prosecution record should be easier to use.
Patent professionals have always had access to the USPTO record. The challenge was turning decades of prosecution history into evidence that's useful when a decision needs to be made. That's what Juristat set out to solve.
We’ve collected 20+ years of patent offce data to build the intelligence that help patent professionals understand what happened, why it happened and what the record can tell them about what comes next.
The Juristat story
We started with the record.
When Juristat was founded in 2012, accessing and making sense of decades of USPTO prosecution history was challenging. We captured the USPTO back catalog and turned it into clean, structured data that practitioners could use alongside their own expertise.
That work shaped everything we've built since. The tools have changed, but the need for relevant prosecution data hasn't.
Our mission remains the same: build data-driven solutions to improve patent outcomes.
"Our role isn't to replace professional judgment. It's to give practitioners better evidence to apply it."
— Lauren Bonner, CEO
The tools are changing. We're building with them.
Juristat's dataset spans more than two decades of USPTO prosecution history across more than 10 million applications, cross-referenced across examiners, art units, office actions, rejections, responses, and outcomes.
We built this dataset when the USPTO record could be captured at this scale. Today, it gives Juristat access to a depth of historical prosecution data that's difficult to replicate.
As AI and other technologies change how patent professionals work with information, Juristat data can move directly into the tools and workflows they already use.
We'll continue to test what's new, adopt what works and build from the data we know best.
